For those of you that don’t follow me on Instagram ( Go follow me!) I have been engaged since December 30th 2019. I’ve been planning Marc and I’s wedding ever since and boy let me tell you; it has been an uphill battle. Living in the midst of a pandemic is something I don’t think any of us thought 2020 would be. We recently decided to postpone our wedding cause of the pandemic and honestly we can say our hearts go out to all those that have been affected by COVID.
I’m going to say that planning for us in the middle of a pandemic has been hard. But honestly while I was planning in quarantine, I got most of my inspiration from Pinterest. Honestly, what did we do before Pinterest? Seriously it is such a lifesaver. Choosing a color palette was hard and ultimately I ended up wanting to play into super pastel light blues & greens; Think Ethereal Garden. I want a super romantic vibe and think I definitely hit the nail on the head with my inspo.
A huge component to our wedding is that it’s in the rural part of Brentwood, TN and at a historic venue. I’m a sucker for anything historic so when we visited the venue; we just knew it was the one. The venue has stunning Tennessee views and is going to be beautiful in the spring. A lot of my wedding inspo was built off of the venue and dress specifically and everything fell into place after that.
If you search dusty blue and green wedding Inspo on Pinterest the search literally comes back with hundreds and hundreds of images lol and honestly its pretty dang hard to pin point a few down. It honestly got really overwhelming (I had to plan in spurts to avoid getting anxious) and eventually my Color Idea board looked like this:
My bridesmaids and I have chosen their dresses from Revelry. I got a lot of my inspiration from all over Pinterest but their website caught my eye and has an awesome feature to see their dresses IRL. Here are two that caught my eye and made me set on the color choices :). It’s an awesome company with fabulous customer service. I plan on making a separate blog post dedicated to Revelry because I love their site so much!
Aren’t these colors so pretty?! While we’re not using the darker colors, I definitely think you could add those and get a whole different feel. Revelry’s website and private Facebook group were so helpful because you could see real life wedding inspo of other brides that have used their dresses and color. If you want to see my wedding board specifically definitely give me a follow on there.
Down to the Details..
Like I mentioned before a wedding vibe changes with the little finishing touches and details that you add to make your wedding YOURS. For me, I have always loved gold accents ( I have a ton in my home) so I really wanted to incorporate it into our wedding. Our Flower rentals come with gold vases for our centerpieces and we have a ton of gold frames and Signage to tie it all in. To add a little bit of sparkle, there will be elements of crystal/glass here and there as well; cause who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle?
I’ve been so obsessed with this color palette that I can’t think of my wedding being anything but these colors and this vibe. I’m so excited to see it all together on the day of our wedding!. I will be compiling a post with all the items we are purchasing for our wedding; so be on the lookout for that 🙂
Hopefully, this can give you an insight of what Marc and I plan on doing for our wedding and I hope it helps anyone who is trying to decide if they should have a dusty blue wedding ( just do it!) and hope any other bride to be’s out there can pull from my Pinterest boards and this blog post for their own inpiration. 🙂
